Call to Artists: Capturing the Essence of the Oregon Coast - A Unique Opportunity at the SurfSand Hotel
[Cannon Beach, Oregon, 8/12/2023) - The SurfSand Hotel, in collaboration with Studio Art Direct, is thrilled to announce a remarkable opportunity for local artists residing in Clatsop and Tillamook counties in Oregon. We are issuing a call to artists for abstract and impressionistic artworks that embody the captivating beauty and spirit of the Oregon Coast.
This initiative presents a perfect chance for artists to showcase their talent and creativity while contributing to the ambiance of our coastal retreat. Selected artworks will be thoughtfully reproduced onto canvas and prominently displayed in the comfort of our 92 hotel guestrooms. In addition, original pieces will be carefully chosen to grace the public areas, including the lobby and corridors, offering a unique chance for artists to share their visions with a diverse audience.
The awe-inspiring Oregon Coast has long been a source of inspiration for artists, capturing the ever-changing moods of the sea, the rugged coastline, and the interplay of light and shadow. Through this call to artists, the SurfSand Hotel seeks to celebrate the essence of the coast and bring it to life within our hotel spaces, creating an immersive experience for our guests.

Interested artists are invited to submit their works that embody the abstract or impressionistic style, capturing the allure of the Oregon Coast. Submissions will be reviewed by experts from Studio Art Direct and the SurfSand Hotel.
REQUIREMENTS
To be considered, you must reside in Clatsop or Tillamook County. Emerging and established artists are encouraged to submit.
TYPE OF ARTWORK
Original and reproduction artworks depicting scenes from Cannon Beach and surrounding coastal icons, vistas and details will be considered. From the ocean to the dunes, from Cannon Beach downtown to the people who live and play there, we are looking for a fresh local feel with a colorful and uplifting palette. Abstract and impressionistic styles are preferred. Mediums can include, but are not limited to, original paintings, printmaking, drawings, multi-media, silk screen, and wall sculpture. Professional captures of original artworks suitable for reproduction are also included. A variety of sizes will be considered. Photography will not be accepted.
PURCHASE INFORMATION
Original artworks will be purchased outright. Budget is $150 - $6,000.00/each. Reproduction artworks will be selected for volume installations in guest rooms. Licensing royalties will be negotiated directly with selected artists.
